How to Extend Citycoco Battery Life Daily Use

Time:2026-11-03 Views:69

Extending the service life of a Citycoco battery relies on standardized daily charging and riding habits, as improper operation is the main cause of premature battery aging and capacity decay. The most critical daily maintenance rule is to maintain a reasonable charging cycle and avoid extreme power states. Lithium batteries used in Citycoco scooters have no memory effect, so there is no need to exhaust the power completely before charging. Long-term over-discharging (power below 10%) will cause irreversible damage to the battery cell activity, while frequent full-charging and continuous floating charging after 100% power will accelerate internal chemical aging. The optimal daily operation is to charge the battery when the remaining power is 20% to 30% and stop charging timely after reaching 95% to maintain the best cell activity state.

Standardized charging environment and equipment selection are also key to prolonging battery life. Users must support the original matching charger for Citycoco batteries; mismatched high-power or inferior generic chargers will cause unstable charging current and voltage, damaging the BMS system and internal cells. The charging environment should be dry, ventilated, and away from high temperature and direct sunlight. Charging in high-temperature environments in summer or low-temperature environments below 0°C in winter will seriously affect battery chemical stability. In addition, do not charge the battery immediately after long-time high-load riding. The battery will generate heat during operation; resting for 30 minutes to cool down before charging can effectively avoid thermal runaway and cell aging caused by high-temperature charging.

Good riding and storage habits can further delay battery attenuation. In daily riding, avoid frequent rapid acceleration, sudden braking, and long-term full-speed climbing, as these high-current discharge behaviors will increase internal battery load and accelerate cell loss. For long-term storage, the battery should be kept with 50% to 60% remaining power, avoiding full-power or zero-power storage for a long time. It is necessary to charge and discharge the battery once every 1 to 2 months during idle storage to activate cell activity and prevent dormant aging. At the same time, keep the battery surface clean and dry to avoid water ingress and dust accumulation causing poor heat dissipation and circuit corrosion. Adhering to these daily maintenance methods can increase the Citycoco battery’s cycle life by more than 30% and effectively extend its overall service life.
