Citycoco Battery Waterproof Level

Time:2026-09-08 Views:189

Waterproof performance is a core safety indicator for Citycoco batteries, directly determining the battery’s stability and service life in rainy days, wet roads, and outdoor parking environments. Most Citycoco batteries on the market are marked with IP65 or IP67 waterproof ratings, but many users cannot distinguish the actual protection differences between the two standards, leading to battery short circuit, water ingress, and bulging damage caused by improper use in rainy weather. Both IP65 and IP67 belong to high-level dustproof and waterproof grades, with the first digit “6” representing the highest dustproof level, meaning both batteries are completely dust-tight and free from fine particle erosion. The core difference lies in the second digit, which defines the liquid water protection capability and adapts to completely different usage scenarios.

IP65 is a splash-proof waterproof standard designed for daily conventional riding scenarios. Batteries with IP65 rating can resist low-pressure water splashes from all directions, effectively coping with light rain, road water splash during riding, and accidental water splashing during daily cleaning. The battery shell of IP65 products is equipped with basic sealing rubber strips and waterproof gaskets, which can block scattered water droplets and humid air. However, IP65 batteries cannot resist continuous water flushing or short-term immersion. If a Citycoco scooter wades through deep water or is exposed to heavy rain for a long time, water will penetrate the battery gaps, causing internal circuit board dampness, BMS protection failure, and even battery short circuit. This grade is suitable for users who mainly ride on sunny days and avoid rainy travel.

IP67 is a higher-level immersion-proof waterproof standard, which is significantly upgraded in sealing structure and protective performance compared with IP6 IP67 certified Citycoco batteries can withstand short-term immersion in 1-meter-deep static water for 30 minutes without water ingress or performance failure. The shell adopts integrated compression sealing technology, with thicker waterproof gaskets and fully sealed interfaces for charging and discharging ports, which can completely isolate external water and humid air. In actual use, IP67 batteries can adapt to heavy rain riding, accidental wading through shallow water sections, and outdoor overnight parking in rainy weather, with far stronger environmental adaptability than IP65 products. Even in humid coastal or rainy seasons, IP67 batteries can maintain stable internal operation and avoid aging acceleration caused by dampness.

In practical selection and use, users need to match the waterproof level according to their riding environment. For urban commuters who ride on clean roads and rarely encounter heavy rain, IP65 batteries are cost-effective and fully meet daily needs. For users who often commute in rainy areas, park scooters outdoors for a long time, or need to pass occasional waterlogged roads, IP67 batteries are a safer choice, effectively reducing battery failure rates and maintenance costs. It is worth noting that neither IP65 nor IP67 supports long-term deep water immersion or high-pressure water gun flushing. Daily cleaning should avoid direct water flushing on the battery shell and interface to prevent damage to the waterproof structure and failure of protective performance.
