Citycoco Battery Storage Temperature

Time:2026-06-17 Views:176

Proper storage temperature is a key factor affecting the service life, performance stability and safety of Citycoco lithium-ion batteries. Most original and upgraded Citycoco batteries adopt lithium-ion or LiFePO4 materials, which have strict temperature requirements for short-term and long-term storage. Scientific temperature management can effectively avoid battery capacity attenuation, internal chemical aging, and potential safety hazards, ensuring the battery maintains optimal working condition for a long time.

The optimal storage temperature range for Citycoco batteries is 15°C to 35°C (59°F to 95°F), which is the most suitable ambient temperature for long-term static storage. Under this temperature condition, the internal chemical activity of the battery remains stable, the monthly self-discharge rate is controlled within 3%, and the capacity loss is minimized. For daily short-term storage within 30 days, the allowable temperature range can be extended from 0°C to 45°C. It is recommended to store the battery in a dry, ventilated indoor environment, avoiding direct sunlight and closed high-temperature spaces such as car trunks in summer.

Extreme temperatures will cause irreversible damage to Citycoco batteries. Long-term storage in environments below -20°C will lead to reduced battery activity, frozen internal electrolyte, and permanent attenuation of discharge capacity, resulting in insufficient power output during subsequent use. Storage in environments above 45°C will accelerate the aging of internal battery cells, damage the BMS protection board, and even trigger bulging and short-circuit risks. In winter low-temperature areas, users need to move the battery indoors for warm storage; in summer high-temperature seasons, avoid placing the battery in high-temperature and humid environments.

For long-term storage exceeding 6 months, in addition to maintaining a constant temperature environment, users need to keep the battery power at 50% to 70%, and perform supplementary charging every 6 months to prevent over-discharge failure. It is strictly forbidden to store fully charged or completely depleted batteries for a long time. Following the standard storage temperature specifications can extend the Citycoco batterys service life by more than 30%, maintain stable cruising range, and eliminate potential safety hazards caused by improper storage.
