Citycoco Battery Not Charging What to Do

Time:2026-10-15 Views:187

When a Citycoco battery fails to charge, users can troubleshoot and solve the problem step by step from external equipment, connection faults and battery body failures, covering most common daily charging faults. The first and most common cause is charger failure. Long-term use, accidental drop or aging of the internal circuit will cause the charger to fail to output current normally. Users can check the charger indicator light first: if the light does not turn on after plugging in the power, or remains green without switching to red charging state, the charger is likely damaged. At this time, replace it with a matching original 60V or 72V special charger for testing, which can quickly solve most non-charging problems caused by charger faults.

Loose or faulty charging connections are another major cause of battery not charging. The Citycoco battery charging port is exposed for a long time, which is easy to accumulate dust, rainwater and metal sundries, causing poor contact or short circuit of the charging interface. Users can first unplug the power supply, clean the dust and oxidation stains inside the charging port with a dry brush, and check whether the charging pin is bent or loose. In addition, the battery power connection wire may fall off or age due to vehicle vibration, resulting in disconnection of the charging circuit. It is necessary to check the tightness of the battery wiring harness and ensure that all interfaces are firmly connected. After cleaning and re-connecting, plug in the charger again to test the charging status.

If the above methods are invalid, the problem lies in the internal failure of the battery pack, including BMS protection board activation and cell damage. The built-in BMS protection system of Citycoco battery will trigger over-discharge protection when the battery power is completely exhausted, resulting in failure to charge normally. For this situation, users can use the original charger to continuously charge for 1-2 hours to activate the protection board; individual batteries need professional activation equipment to recover. If the battery has been used for more than 3 years with severe capacity attenuation, or has been soaked and collided, internal cell damage may occur, which cannot be repaired and needs to be replaced with a new battery. It is worth noting that do not disassemble the battery pack privately to avoid short circuit and electric shock risks.
