Running an electric motorcycle at a sustained high speed of 100km/h places extremely high requirements on battery discharge performance, voltage stability, and thermal resistance, ruling out ordinary low-capacity lead-acid and entry-level lithium batteries. High-speed riding requires the battery to provide continuous high-current discharge to support high-power motor operation. Unqualified batteries will experience voltage drop, power attenuation, severe heating, and even automatic power-off during high-speed cruising. Therefore, selecting a professional high-performance battery is the core prerequisite for stable 100km/h high-speed riding.
The 72V high-capacity lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery pack is the most suitable choice for 100km/h high-speed riding. Compared with ternary lithium batteries, LiFePO4 batteries have stronger high-current discharge capacity, higher thermal stability, and no risk of thermal runaway during long-term high-power output. For a motorcycle to stably maintain 100km/h, the battery must support a continuous discharge current above 80A and a peak current above 120A. The upgraded 72V50Ah and 72V60Ah LiFePO4 batteries with 100A-rated BMS perfectly meet this demand, providing stable voltage output without obvious power attenuation during long-distance high-speed cruising.
Ordinary batteries are completely unsuitable for 100km/h high-speed riding. Traditional lead-acid batteries have poor discharge performance, severe voltage drop under high current, and cannot sustain high-speed output for more than 5 minutes, accompanied by severe heating and rapid capacity decay. Entry-level 72V30Ah lithium batteries have small cell specifications and low BMS current limits, which will trigger over-current protection and power reduction during high-speed riding, making it impossible to maintain 100km/h steady speed. In addition, low-voltage 60V batteries have insufficient base voltage, resulting in limited motor speed and inability to break through 85km/h in actual riding.
In addition to voltage and capacity, battery configuration details determine high-speed riding safety and stability. High-speed dedicated batteries must be equipped with a high-precision BMS to stabilize current and voltage, prevent over-current and overheating protection, and balance cell power consumption. Thickened copper wire tabs and high-temperature resistant shell materials are also essential to adapt to high-temperature working environments during long-term high-power discharge. For users pursuing extreme high-speed stability, 72V60Ah or 72V80Ah high-rate lithium battery packs are the best options, balancing speed performance, cruising range, and riding safety.
