What Are the Voltage Levels of Tricycle Batteries

The voltage level of a tricycle battery is a core parameter that directly determines the power output, speed, torque, and overall performance of the tricycle. It acts as the "power foundation" of the tricycle, and different voltage levels are designed to match various tricycle models and usage scenarios. Currently, the mainstream voltage levels of tricycle batteries on the market range from 24V to 84V, with each level having clear applicable scenarios and performance characteristics, and there is no one-size-fits-all option. Understanding these voltage levels is crucial for selecting a suitable battery and ensuring the stable operation of the tricycle.

The 24V battery is the lowest voltage level among tricycle batteries, mainly used in small, low-power tricycles such as children's tricycles or ultra-light-duty代步 tricycles for short-distance use. Its biggest advantages are low cost, light weight, and easy handling, making it suitable for short rides in communities, parks, or yards. However, due to its low voltage, it has limited power output, cannot handle steep slopes or heavy loads, and has a short cruising range, usually only 10-20 kilometers, which is far from meeting the needs of daily commuting or cargo transportation. This voltage level is gradually being phased out in adult tricycles but remains popular in children's models and small utility tricycles.

The 36V and 48V batteries are the most common voltage levels for civilian tricycles, striking a good balance between power, cost, and practicality. The 36V battery is often used in mid-range tricycles for daily commuting or light commercial use, such as small errands, vegetable shopping, or short-distance passenger transportation. It can provide moderate speed and torque, suitable for flat terrain and mild slopes, with a cruising range of 30-40 kilometers, which can meet the daily needs of most urban and rural residents. The 48V battery is more powerful than the 36V one, with better acceleration and the ability to carry light loads (within 300 jin) and climb steeper slopes. It is widely used in commuter tricycles and small cargo tricycles, with a cruising range of 40-60 kilometers, and is the preferred voltage level for most adult tricycles.

The 60V, 72V, and 84V batteries belong to the high-voltage category, mainly used in high-performance tricycles and heavy-duty cargo tricycles. The 60V battery is suitable for medium-weight cargo transportation, such as delivering express packages, fruits, or small commodities, with a motor power of 800-1200W and a cruising range of 60-80 kilometers, which can handle loads of 300-500 jin. The 72V battery is designed for heavy-duty cargo and long-distance transportation, with a motor power of more than 1000W, a cruising range of 75-100 kilometers, and the ability to carry loads of 500-1500 jin, making it suitable for agricultural use (transporting grain, chemical fertilizers) and long-distance cargo transportation. The 84V battery is a relatively rare high-voltage level, used in extreme heavy-duty scenarios, with a motor power of more than 2000W and a cruising range of over 100 kilometers, but it has higher requirements for the tricycle's motor and controller.
