How Many Cycles Does a Citycoco Lithium Battery Last: Lifespan & Attenuation Rules

Time:2026-10-28 Views:89

The cycle life of a Citycoco lithium battery is the core index to measure the battery service life and use cost, referring to the number of complete charge and discharge cycles before the battery capacity decays to 80% of the original rated capacity. Many riders confuse single charging times with cycle times, resulting in wrong judgment of battery aging degree. Understanding the accurate cycle life data and capacity attenuation rules of Citycoco lithium batteries can help users arrange charging habits reasonably, delay battery aging, and judge whether the battery needs to be replaced.

Standard factory-grade Citycoco lithium batteries (18650 cell ternary lithium batteries) have a rated cycle life of 800 to 1200 complete cycles. Entry-level 60V 12Ah batteries with ordinary cells can maintain more than 80% capacity after 800 cycles, while high-capacity 60V 20Ah high-quality cells support 1000 to 1200 cycles. A complete cycle is defined as full discharge from 100% power to 0% and then full charge to 100%; partial charge and discharge (such as charging from 40% to 90%) will be accumulated and converted into cycle times instead of being counted as a complete cycle. Under normal daily use conditions, the average cycle consumption of ordinary commuting riders is 2 to 3 cycles per week, and the battery can be used stably for 3 to 5 years.

Battery capacity attenuation shows obvious stage rules with the increase of cycle times. In the first 0-500 cycles, the battery capacity attenuation is very slow, with the capacity retention rate above 90%, and the power and mileage performance are almost consistent with the new battery. In the middle stage of 500-1000 cycles, the capacity gradually decays to 80%-90%, the riding mileage decreases slightly, and the power output remains stable without obvious power weakness. After more than 1000 cycles, the battery enters the aging stage, the capacity decays rapidly below 80%, the mileage drops significantly, and problems such as sudden power failure and insufficient power are easy to occur during climbing and acceleration, so it is necessary to consider replacing the battery in time.

Daily usage habits greatly affect the actual cycle life of Citycoco lithium batteries. Long-term overcharging, overdischarging, high-temperature charging, and heavy-load riding will accelerate cell aging and reduce cycle times by more than 30%. Keeping the battery power in the 20%-80% range for daily use, avoiding full charge and deep discharge for a long time, charging in a cool and ventilated environment, and avoiding long-term high-load climbing riding can effectively extend the battery cycle life. In addition, long-term idle storage will also cause invisible capacity attenuation. It is recommended to charge and discharge the battery once a month for idle scooters to maintain cell activity and maximize the service life of the Citycoco lithium battery.
