Citycoco 60V 20Ah lithium battery packs are mainly assembled with two mainstream cylindrical lithium cells: 18650 and 21700, and the selection of cell types directly determines the battery’s energy density, discharge performance, service life and overall cost. The 18650 cell is a traditional mature specification with a diameter of 18mm and a height of 65mm, which has dominated the Citycoco battery assembly market for a long time due to its stable technology, sufficient supply and cost advantages. The 21700 cell, with a diameter of 21mm and a height of 70mm, is an upgraded new-generation cell, featuring larger volume, higher capacity and better discharge efficiency, and has gradually become popular in high-end Citycoco battery configurations in recent years.

The 18650 cell-based Citycoco battery is more suitable for cost-effective conventional models. A complete 60V 20Ah battery pack requires series-parallel assembly of multiple 18650 cells, with a single cell capacity usually ranging from 2000mAh to 2500mAh. After professional grouping and BMS matching, the assembled battery pack has stable performance and extremely low failure rate. The biggest advantage of 18650 cells lies in mature manufacturing technology and high compatibility, with universal accessories and maintenance channels worldwide. For daily urban commuting and short-distance riding scenarios with low power demand, 18650 cell batteries can fully meet the 50-60km range demand of Citycoco scooters, with stable voltage output and good cost performance, occupying most of the entry-level and mid-range Citycoco supporting markets.

The 21700 cell is an upgraded choice for high-performance Citycoco batteries, with obvious performance advantages over 18650 cells. The single 21700 cell has a capacity of 4000mAh to 5000mAh, nearly twice that of 18650 cells. Under the same 60V 20Ah capacity specification, the number of cells required for 21700 battery packs is significantly reduced, which simplifies the internal assembly structure, reduces the risk of virtual connection and cell inconsistency, and improves the overall stability and service life of the battery pack. In terms of discharge performance, 21700 cells support higher continuous discharge current and stronger instantaneous power output, which is more suitable for high-power Citycoco scooters equipped with 1500W-2000W motors, providing stronger power support for rapid acceleration and slope climbing.

There are clear differences in service life and application scenarios between the two cell types. The 18650 Citycoco battery has a cycle life of about 1500-2000 times, which is sufficient for daily family use and meets the replacement cycle of ordinary electric scooters. The 21700 cell battery has a more stable lithium-ion activity, with a cycle life of up to 2500-3000 times, and the capacity attenuation is slower in long-term use. However, the cost of 21700 cells is higher, resulting in a higher overall price of the battery pack. At present, most standard Citycoco original batteries adopt 18650 cells to balance cost and performance, while modified high-power models and long endurance versions are basically equipped with 21700 cell batteries. Users can choose according to their riding power demand and budget.
